Welcome to the Pennsylvania Chapter of Palatines to America
Did your forebears emigrate to Pennsylvania from a German (aka Palatine) state? Are you interested in those Pennsylvania Germans? This is the place to learn more about them and find tips, clues, and resources to further your research. If your ancestors arrived in Philadelphia during the 1700s, the men were marched from the docks to the courthouse pictured above to sign the Oath of Allegiance (see the Research Links for the Pennsylvania German Pioneer series to learn more). Members have access to additional resources, including searchable newsletters back to the first in 1978.

What's Your Problem?
Pennsylvania Chapter members are invited to submit a research problem for discussion at our November Third Tuesday. We first tried this format last year and received positive feedback, so we’re offering it again. We can’t solve your problem or do the research for you, but maybe the other attendees can offer ideas and suggestions for your next steps. If you have a brick wall that you would like to include in the discussion check the attached flyer.  It lists details that members should provide and submit to pennsylvaniapalatines@gmail.com by Monday, November 11.
Register Here to join us for this discussion. Even if you don’t have a problem to submit, you might learn something from another problem.  Download a flyer with more information.
